About the Role
Baker Hughes is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Transducer in Cromwell, Connecticut. The role assists with all aspects of transducer production and development projects, providing engineering and technical support to ensure volume, cost and quality standards are achieved, and performing research, development and documentation for product lines while continuously focusing on product improvement. The Baker Hughes internal title for this role is Engineering Specialist - Process Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Support the initial design, assembly and testing of prototype transducers for custom inspection tools, then successfully transfer them into production.
- Apply engineering skills and knowledge to develop new and improved production procedures, practices, and documentation.
- Make safety a top priority at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or other Engineering discipline.
- Proven knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the design and production of NDT UT transducers.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, schematics, drawings and models.
- Ability to take the initiative and be hands-on; capability of training and auditing the work of others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate-level computer skills in MS Office products; CAD software experience such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks is a plus.
- Working conditions are normal for a production environment and include exposure to a shop environment involving lifting of material and/or products up to 30 pounds; may require some travel.
- This position requires current work authorization in the country of employment; the employer is unable to provide or continue work authorization sponsorship for this role.
