About the Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support daily manufacturing operations by driving process improvements, enhancing product quality, and improving operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with operators, technicians, quality engineers, and leadership teams to identify and resolve production challenges, contribute to the development and optimization of manufacturing processes, support new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement across the production environment.
Responsibilities
- Support daily manufacturing operations by troubleshooting process issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop, document, and improve standard work instructions, process flows, and manufacturing procedures.
- Assist in designing tools, fixtures, and equipment to improve safety, quality, and throughput.
- Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S).
- Support new product introductions by helping define manufacturing requirements and validating processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production and adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively on the production floor and communicate with technical and non-technical teams.
- Familiarity with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar).
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, fabrication, or automation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Preferred: internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred: exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Preferred: experience with data analysis tools (Minitab, JMP, or similar).
- Preferred: knowledge of GD&T, PFMEA, or control plans.
