About the Role

Baker Hughes is seeking a Sourcing Specialist - Buying/Procurement in Batam, Indonesia, supporting its subsea and surface pressure business that manufactures market-leading subsea production systems for offshore facilities. The role manages the buying process for a given set of goods, applying sourcing policy and interfacing between suppliers and entities with respect to specifications and budgets.

Responsibilities

Place and follow up on POs; manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution.
Manage and solve problems as well as schedule changes; update ERP.
Achieve the lowest possible cost for material, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs.
Ensure material/services are delivered on schedule, at negotiated price, and meet required quality standards, and support strategic suppliers' development.
Initiate necessary action to assure best value is received, customer delivery requirements are met, and address any manufacturing problems at the supplier's facility.
Handle communication with direct colleagues and the business about approach and methods for solving complex problems.
Lead design and implementation of projects, with work goals typically spanning 1-2 years.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, preferably in business/engineering/supply chain, from an accredited university is preferred.
Minimum 8-10 years' experience in Buying/Procurement, Sourcing, and/or Supply Chain.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as established interpersonal and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems and project management skills to lead projects.
Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
