About the Role
The Technical Superintendent ensures the seaworthiness of vessels to meet company, charterer, and class standards while delivering a continuous reduction of the annual maintenance budget by managing the planned maintenance activities, dry docking, and hands-on problem-solving on technical issues for all the company's vessels.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the seaworthiness of vessels to meet company, charterer, and class standards.
- Deliver a continuous reduction of the annual maintenance budget.
- Manage planned maintenance activities and dry docking for all the company's vessels.
- Provide hands-on problem-solving on technical issues across the fleet.
Qualifications
- 10 - 15 years' experience as a Marine Engineer.
- Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent is a mandatory requirement.
- Offshore sailing experience is an added advantage.
- A Technical Superintendency license is required for this role.
- Valid COC is an added advantage.
- Extensive knowledge of the marine, tugboat, oil transportation, and shipping industry.
- Knowledge of vessel maintenance systems and equipment.
- Capable of making decisions and giving directions to facilitate prompt service delivery.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all sensitive communications.
- Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions.
- Ability to develop and implement appropriate procedures and controls.
- Must be physically fit enough to board vessels, barges, and tugs at sea and in port.
- Authorized to work in Nigeria.
