About the Role
The Tech Team Lead deploys technician capability across the Monitoring Systems value stream to support repair discipline, troubleshooting effectiveness, work center readiness, and daily execution priorities. This role partners closely with Manufacturing Operations, Frontline Supervisors, Manufacturing/Test Engineering, Quality, Materials and Planning, Maintenance and Facilities, HSE, Training, HR, and Product/Technology Engineering to align technician talent to production needs, skill level, technical complexity, and business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Convert technician role definitions into consistent shop floor execution
- Ensure technicians are used as problem-solvers as well as Daily Management delivery specialists
- Support technician progression through structured exposure, mentoring, and work center rotation
- Focus and develop repair velocity, troubleshooting discipline, fixture readiness, and Engineering engagement
- Create visibility to technician capability gaps impacting flow, yield, and delivery
- Improve downtime recovery, yield, repair discipline, and technical workforce scalability
- Deploy technician skills based on work center need, issue complexity, and business priority
- Reinforce the repair-first mindset: "What can I repair today?"
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)
- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing, test, repair, troubleshooting, or technical operations environment
- Strong understanding of shop floor execution, work center flow, production priorities, and daily operational constraints
- Experience developing technical problem-solving in areas such as product test, repair, rework, fixture support, equipment troubleshooting, or process improvement
- Ability to manage an operation, business unit, or part of a production facility to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery, and safety
- Ability to ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards
- Preferred: Electrical Engineering degree
- Preferred: ability to distinguish between production execution issues, technician capability gaps, Engineering-owned issues, Quality issues, and equipment or fixture-related constraints
- Preferred: working knowledge of standard work, work instructions, manufacturing documentation, and escalation processes
