About the Role
NextEra Energy is hiring an LFG (Landfill Gas) Production Technician I at its Eastern facility in White Marsh, MD (NextEra Energy Pipeline Services, LLC). Reporting to the site daily, the role operates, adjusts, and maintains industrial engines to ensure compliance with permits and environmental plans — managing fuel consumption, temperature and pressure thresholds, energy output, emissions output, and recordkeeping — and is accountable for the physical and human assets at the assigned facility. Requires occasional overnight travel to assist at other sites and participation in the on-site on-call schedule.
Responsibilities
- Participate in routine and major maintenance on industrial engines.
- Conduct all work safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Operate, adjust, and maintain industrial engines to stay compliant with permits and environmental compliance.
- Regularly participate in cleaning and housekeeping, maintaining the facility in a safe and presentable condition.
- Participate in the on-site on-call schedule as instructed by the LFG Production Technician Leader.
- Travel overnight from time to time to assist at other sites.
- Help manage onsite inventory to ensure adequate supplies and spare parts are maintained and tracked.
- Assist in closing out Maximo work orders.
- Log book entries of pressure outputs, temperature and pressure thresholds, and energy and emission outputs.
- Manage technical performance of the plant.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED.
- 3+ years of experience.
- Valid Driver's License (Non-CDL).
- Preferred: Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
