About the Role
The Cost Control Team Lead leads the cost control team in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on costs, with the goal of optimizing financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making. The role ensures that cost control measures are implemented and adhered to, contributing to the organization's overall financial health and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor the cost control team, providing guidance, review, support, and development opportunities.
- Oversee the tracking and recording of all costs and revenues associated with the units and departments.
- Analyze cost data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Prepare and present detailed cost reports and summaries for senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring that cost estimates are realistic and aligned with financial goals.
- Ensure that cost control practices comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cost efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work closely with other departments to gather cost-related information and support cost control initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, PMP, CCE, AACE) is preferred.
- Experience in cost control, financial analysis, or a similar role. Experience in Oil & Gas and large infrastructure industries preferred.
- Functional competencies: commercial analytics and reporting, cost control and performance management execution, risk and internal control, budgeting and forecasting, project budget set-up, project cost management, contractual and commercial, master data set-up and interface.
