About the Role

Design and develop control solutions for rotating equipment, power management systems, energy management systems, and electrical power applications using Baker Hughes technologies, PRISMIC products, and various OEM PLCs and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs). You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and project managers to execute customer and system requirements from design through commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of rotating equipment, power management systems, energy management systems, and their associated auxiliary control systems.
  • Review electrical and control circuit designs and provide detailed markups and technical guidance to the drawing office team.
  • Prepare and review hardware design specifications, functional design specifications, control narratives, and I/O documentation.
  • Develop detailed test specifications and procedures for hardware, software, simulation, FAT, and SAT activities.
  • Program PLCs and configure control systems using various OEM software platforms to meet functional requirements.
  • Create configuration files for Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), protection relays, and communication interfaces using OEM tools.
  • Perform hardware wiring, setup, simulation, and testing activities to validate system performance and functionality.
  • Support product testing, integration, customer-site testing, and commissioning, and collaborate with tendering, sales, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver customer solutions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in designing industrial control systems, preferably for rotating equipment, electrical power systems, power management systems, energy management systems, machinery, or process control applications.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Controls, Automation, Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in PLC/DCS programming and configuring controllers, HMIs, SCADA systems, and IEDs; Codesys experience is desirable.
  • Ability to interpret and develop electrical schematics, control circuit diagrams, and single-line drawings.
  • Capability to wire and set up hardware for simulation, testing, FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
  • Competency in preparing functional design specifications, hardware design specifications, control narratives, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems, communication protocols, and networking technologies including Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA, and IEC 61850; digital substation experience is desirable.
  • Understanding of generator excitation, synchronization, protection schemes, switchgear systems, and safe working practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within global cross-functional teams.
