About the Role
NextEra is looking for an Associate Unmanned System Project Manager (Drone Pilot) to join its Smart Grid team in West Palm Beach, FL. The role operates as an Unmanned Aircraft (UA) pilot flying an under-55lb drone on a daily basis, creating daily flight plans, conducting flights, and recording all safety and flight data to work with business analysts on building the safety case for the project with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Responsibilities
- Ensure safety during all phases of flight.
- Assure the aircraft meets airworthiness specifications before operation.
- Analyze weather and hazards pertaining to the intended flight path.
- Use ADM and CRM to make the best decisions ensuring safety and success.
- Ensure safe transport of the aircraft using truck and trailer.
- Create daily flight plans and conduct daily flights in accordance with regulations.
- Execute and record all safety and flight data.
- Create and update documentation as it pertains to the flight operation.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1+ years.
- Valid Driver's License (NON-CDL).
- FAA Part 107 Certificate.
- Preferred: Associate's Degree.
