About the Role
As a member of the Power Generation Division's Cost and Growth team, you will play a key role in NextEra Energy's renewable infrastructure investment decisions — developing long-term operating cost models and assumptions, negotiating operational terms in power purchase agreements, and providing analytical support to shape the division's financial strategy. This is an in-office role in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Responsibilities
- Understand and articulate operational risks, market dynamics and other financial & contractual considerations affecting development projects.
- Build long term operations and maintenance cost forecast models for greenfield solar, storage and wind projects as well as mergers and acquisitions, in support of key corporate targets.
- Actively support negotiation of operational terms in power purchase and energy storage agreements.
- Identify and seek mitigations for technical and operational risk to projects.
- Complete annual review and update of O&M proforma model assumptions.
- Perform ad hoc analytics in support of executive decision-making.
- Plan, coordinate and complete a large or several medium or small project(s) within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
- Secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes.
- Conduct project meetings and be responsible for project tracking and analysis.
- Identify issues and challenges, measure and validate results, and implement solutions.
- Provide information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues.
- Create and communicate presentation materials for report out and updates with various levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct external research and stay abreast of new developments or innovative advancements pertaining to the project.
- Provide coaching, leadership and direction to project team.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED; Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience.
- Experience: 2+ years.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Engineering; MBA in Finance; Master's Degree; Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Requires in-office, in-person work.
