About the Role
The Firing Line Operator carries out all pipe movements and the fit-up operation on the prefabrication area, line-up station, and the assembly of the J-lay tower station, operating the equipment safely in line with HSE procedures. The role is based on various offshore pipe-lay vessel projects across Qatar, UAE and Saudi Arabia on a 12-month contract (subject to extension).
Responsibilities
- Operate the pipeline conveyors and transfer cars in the Double Joint prefabrication area.
- Operate the clamps for the fit-up in the J-lay tower assembling station.
- Operate the support pipe rollers and transfer cars in the line-up stations.
- Report any equipment malfunctioning to the mechanic department.
- Ensure that the green and red lights are applied according with the work phases.
- Operate the ILUC and its winches.
- Participate in the Tool Box and JSA.
Qualifications
- Previous Firing Line Operator experience on pipe lay vessels.
- Experience with offshore hook-up activities is beneficial.
- Valid offshore certificates.
- Availability to work in the Middle East.
